Bird Finders Uganda

This 18-day birding safari through Uganda offers exceptional opportunities to see rare and endemic species across diverse landscapes. Starting from Entebbe, highlights include tracking the Shoebill at Mabamba Swamp, birding for Albertine Rift endemics in Bwindi and Mgahinga, game drives and boat cruises in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and exploring the iconic Murchison Falls. Optional chimpanzee and gorilla tracking enhance this journey, concluding with a return to Entebbe. This adventure promises a unique and immersive birdwatching experience in one of Africa's richest avian habitats.

Day 1

Pick up at Entebbe International Airport and check-in at the guest house.
Day 2

Morning birding at Mabamba Swamp looking for the Shoebill stork, then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for overnight.
Day 3

Morning game drive and birding, followed by an evening boat cruise at Lake Mburo National Park.
Day 4

Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park with birding enroute, overnight at Mgahinga.
Day 5

Full day birding in Mgahinga targeting Albertine endemic species like the Rwenzori Turaco, Kaadts Waxbill, and Regal Sunbird.
Day 6

Transfer to Ruhija Bwindi with birding via Echuya Forest enroute.
Day 7

Full day birding at Mubwindi Swamp targeting species like Grauer’s Broadbill, Grauer’s Swamp Warbler, and Red-Throated Alethe.
Day 8

Transfer to Buhoma with birding through the Neck, expect to see species like Black Bee-eater and Jameson’s Anti-pecker.
Day 9

Full day birding along the Waterfall Trail with targets such as Neumann's Warbler and Grey-winged Robin-Chat.
Day 10

Gorilla tracking (if available), or transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha Sector for birding enroute.
Day 11

Game drive and birding in the morning, followed by a boat cruise at Kazinga Channel in the evening.
Day 12

Free day for relaxation or additional activities.
Day 13

Transfer to Kibale National Park with birding enroute, overnight at Kibale.
Day 14

Birding in the morning followed by Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Swamp walk.
Day 15

Transfer to Masindi for birding enroute, overnight at Masindi.
Day 16

Birding at Budongo Royal Mile with target species like Nahans Partridge and Dwarf Kingfisher.
Day 17

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and visit the top of the world’s strongest falls, followed by a visit to the bottom of the falls.
Day 18

Morning game drive and birding, then transfer back to Entebbe International Airport for visa clearance and fly back home.

Day 1

Pick up at Entebbe International Airport and check in at the guest house.
Day 2

After the morning breakfast, we shall go to Mabamba Swamp looking for the Illusive Shoebill stork and other water Birds and later transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and overnight.
Day 3

After breakfast, we shall have the morning game drive and Birding and later do the evening Boat Cruise.
Day 4

After breakfast, we shall transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Birding enroute and overnight.
Day 5

After Breakfast, we shall have a day Birding in Mgahinga and Target species includes, Rwenzori Turaco, Kaadts waxbill, Regal Sunbird, Cinnamon Bracken warbler, Grauers, Rwenzori Double coloured Sunbird, Rwenzori Batis, Archers Robin-Chat, Dohertys Bushshrike, lagdens Bushshrike and many other Albertine endemic species and overnight.
Day 6

After breakfast, we shall transfer to Ruhija Bwindi and Birding enroute via Echuya forest and overnight.
Day 7

After breakfast, we shall have a full day in Mubwindi Swamp. This is the Swamp that gave Bwindi National park its name. Our Target species here are Grauers Broadbill, Grauers swamp warbler, Red Throated Alethe, Yellow eyed black flycatcher, and many Albertine endemic species and overnight.
Day 8

After breakfast, we shall transfer to Buhoma and Birding Via the (NECK). We expect to see some Bird species such as, Black bee-eater, Jameson's Anti-pecker, Bar tailed Trogon, Elliott's woodpecker, Cassins flycatcher and many others and overnight.
Day 9

After breakfast, we shall have a full day Birding to the water fall trail and our Target species includes, Neumanns warbler, Willard's Boubou, Jameson's Anti-pecker, Bar tailed Trogon, Elliott's woodpecker, Equatorial Akalat, Grey winged Robin-Chat, mountain Illadopsis, and many others and overnight.
Day 10

After breakfast, we shall go for Gorilla tracking if that activity is considered and if not, then we shall transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park and Birding enroute Via Ishasha sector and overnight.
Day 11

After Breakfast, we shall go for the game Drive and Birding and later do the evening Boat cruise at the Kazinga channel and overnight.
Day 12

Free day for relaxation or additional activities.
Day 13

After breakfast, we shall transfer to Kibale National park and Birding enroute and overnight.
Day 14

After Breakfast, we shall go for Birding oh Chimpanzees tracking in the morning and later go do Bigodi swamp walk and overnight.
Day 15

After breakfast, we shall transfer to Masindi and Birding enroute and overnight.
Day 16

After Breakfast, we shall go for Birding at the Budongo Royal mile and the Target species includes, Nahans patridge, Dwarf kingfisher, Chocolate backed kingfisher, Uganda woodland and many others and overnight.
Day 17

After Breakfast, we shall transfer to Murchison Falls National park and visit the Top of the Strongest falls in the world and later we may visit the Bottom of the falls and overnight.
Day 18

We shall go for the morning game drive and Birding and later transfer back to Entebbe International Airport for Visa clearance and fly back home.
